PCRules.com - Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer Review by Timothy Crittenden

Developer: Microsoft
Release Date: Out Now
Avg. Price: $4
5.54, £41.99

The choice of mice is huge in this day and age. It wasn’t that long ago when it was either a 2 button of a 3 button. now there is everything any one can think of with any combination of features, next thing you know you’ll be offered a mouse which doesn’t need to be on the desk and has a 1001 buttons, almost like the glove in the big hit movie “Minority Report.”

Ever since Microsoft got into the hardware business, in my view there mice have been the best of the best, and this time they have come up with a beauty. This being the cordless version of the very popular intelli Explorer.

Buy from Amazon.co.uk!

They couldn’t have made it a better shape; your hand just fits almost like a glove. with its two extra buttons not to close to you thumb that you keep hitting them, but not to far away to its a hassle to use them, with the added fact that it is cordless you can have you mouse where ever you want without the constant pull of the cord restricting your movements. this is perfect for any first person shooter!

With 5 buttons, all completely programmable this mouse is the god of the mice! I personally use the two extra side buttons for double clicking and opening the start menu, and once you get used to using them, going back to a normally 2-3 button mouse is like going from a Audi TT to a Nova! All the buttons are very responsive an easy to click, but yet not easily click-able by accident. It sounds a bit of a contradiction, but it works so well! And the scroll wheel is the most responsive wheel I’ve used!

If you have ever had an optical mouse you will know that you never have any problems what so ever with the mouse not moving where you want it to. as it doesn’t have a ball and rollers the rollers never get dirty and slick, and as you don’t need a mouse mat, it never gets dirty or greasy so the ball never slips. The mouse is always responsive and always goes where it is told to go. The only downside to this mouse is that there is a tiny lag because it is cordless, but it is so small you only notice it when you first use it, and after that you don’t notice it, the fact that the mouse is also heavy adds to this, but you also become accustomed to that.

The installation and the setup of the mouse are also easy and straightforward and there is every option possible for the programmable buttons. The only other drag factor to the mouse is the price, but it is well worth paying, as you will never buy another mouse again! The only things you will need to buy are batteries. Also make sure you have a spare USB port, as it is USB only.

Quality: 10/10

Extremely good quality mouse, everything is very responsive and works very well, couldn't have been made better

Comfort :

10/10

Extremely comfortable, fits the hand perfectly.

Style :

10/10

Looks Great, sleek and stylish, and with it being wireless makes life so much easier.

Compatibility :

9/10

This mouse is very compatible, but it is only USB, so you can't use it on an old Windows 95 system

Learning Curve :

10/10

The perfect mouse, takes no time at all to get used to the slight weight difference due to the batteries

Overall : 49/50

This is the king of the mice, nothing will beet it, until Microsoft bring out the next version of the wireless explorer!
